Rules of Play ___________________________________________________________
All spectators are asked to sit up in the stands, not on the sidelines. It is for safety reasons for the spectators and the
players. No alcohol or smoking is allowed in the facility. Also, we ask that spectators respond in a positive manner to the
players. No coaching from the stands, please. Also, we ask that you please sit in the stands. There are areas where people
that stand will block the view of those behind them. If you want to stand, then go to an area where you will not block the
view of others. ___________________________________________________________ All games are 38 minutes in length. You are
asked to be ready to play as soon as the previous game has completed. The teams are allowed to warm up on the sideline 5 minutes
before their game. No balls will be used to warm up, please. ___________________________________________________________
There will be a one minute break at the end of the first half. Teams are asked to switch sides and be ready to play at the
end of the one minute break. The clock will run without stopping during each half of play. ___________________________________________________________
Under 10 will play with the same amount of players on the field that are used in the Spring League. Under 12 will play 7 v7.
Remaining age groups will play 6 v 6. All ages will have goalkeepers. If there is an Under 8 division, it will be in a Festival
setting- small sided games ___________________________________________________________ Substitutions: All substitutions will
be on the fly. Please make sure the player coming off is completely off the field of play before the player going into the
game enters the field. Otherwise the referee may call too many players on the field which will result in loss of possession.
The goalkeepers are allowed to substitute simultaneously. It is recommended that the player going into the goalkeeper position
go down the sideline even with the goal and switch with the player coming out of the game. ___________________________________________________________
Out of bounds: The sidelines are the red lines. To put the ball in play, the player must place the ball behind the red line
and kick it into play, not throw it. The ball must be played within 6 seconds, or else the team will lose possession. It is
up to the referee to make the decision as to when to start the count. ___________________________________________________________
Goalkeepers must throw the ball into play, no punting. If there is a violation that calls for a restart by the goalkeeper,
he/she must throw the ball into play. If the ball is deflected by the goalkeeper or a defender, and it goes behind the net,
then the offensive team is awarded a corner kick. If it goes off of an offensive player, then it is a goal kick (throw by
the goalkeeper). The goalkeeper can throw it over the half line without the team losing possession. The keeper cannot pick
up the ball on a pass back. ___________________________________________________________ Penalty for kicking the ball out
of bounds in the penalty areas: The designated areas for a penalty are the lines that are on the wall that surround the field
on three sides. If the ball is kicked (deflected balls do not count) and it hits over the line or anywhere on the ceiling,
the player must serve a one minute penalty. The penalty starts when the player sits down at the timer’s table located in the
center between the coaches boxes. If the team that has the advantage scores during the penalty phase, then the player serving
the penalty may re enter the game. Also, you may substitute the player serving the penalty. If the goalkeeper is in violation,
then the coach may designate another player to serve the penalty. There could be circumstances where you may have more than
one player serving a penalty. If the player is sent off for a dangerous play, then there is a two minute penalty. If the
team receives a red card, then the team plays down for the remainder of the game. If a player receives more than two red cards,
they will be suspended from the tournament. There is NO SLIDE TACKLING OF ANY SORT allowed. It will result in a two minute
penalty. ___________________________________________________________ All restarts are indirect kicks, except a penalty kick.
If a penalty kick is awarded, then the person taking the kick will shoot on the goalkeeper. If the shot is missed or stopped
by the goalkeeper, then the play is whistled dead. The play restarts with a goalkeeper throw. ___________________________________________________________
Coaches, please stay in the coaches’ box. Up to 3 coaches or managers are allowed on the sidelines. No trash talking, unsportsmanlike
conduct, foul language, etc., will be tolerated. If it occurs, then you will be asked to leave the premises by the management.
___________________________________________________________ In a division where there are playoffs, it will be the two top
teams playing for a championship. Management has the right to make adjustments to any seating or formats, and playoff competitions.
Points awarded for wins- 3 points. Ties- 1 point- Loss- 0 points ___________________________________________________________
The purpose of this tournament is to allow for everyone to enjoy the game of soccer. The scorer will not post scores over
a four point difference in the U-12 and below. We do not condone teams running up scores just for the purpose of embarrassing
the other team. We hope coaches can understand there are other ways to be creative and use the situation to work on passing,
heading, etc, as opposed to just seeing how many goals can be scored. The scoreboard will only keep a four goal difference.
___________________________________________________________ If there are any questions regarding the rules, please seek
out management for clarification. ___________________________________________________________ Thank you and HAVE FUN!
